During the autumn break, DP students spent several days in Belgrade. The trip combined cultural, educational and sports activities and continued a school tradition: to link rest with direct experience and the practical application of topics that usually remain within lessons.

One of the first items in the programme was bowling and billiards. These games gained an extra dimension with the physics teacher present: the force of the strike, the direction and the trajectory of the balls were visible in a concrete way, and every action produced an immediate result.

A separate day was dedicated to the science museum and the planetarium. In the planetarium the students watched a film about dark matter, one of the key unsolved phenomena in modern astrophysics. The museum exhibitions complemented the school science course and allowed the students to look again at familiar topics.

Volleyball was part of the programme in Belgrade as well: the Adriatic College team played a friendly match with a Serbian sports school. For the students it was an opportunity to connect sport, a competitive setting and communication with peers in another country.

Another day was reserved for a trip to Novi Sad. The schedule included archery and a quest-style walk through the catacombs of Petrovaradin Fortress. In one day the students tried several formats of activity: from physical concentration during archery to teamwork and orientation in the space of a historical fortress.

The team-building part of the programme included escape rooms and the interactive format Pixel Blocks, where a computer game appears in a physical environment. These activities supported a working atmosphere in the group, developed communication and helped to distribute roles inside the team.

The cultural part of the trip continued in the National Gallery. The students saw works by Bosch, Monet, Degas, Picasso, Rubens and other artists. For some, it was the first encounter with well-known paintings not as reproductions in textbooks, but as works presented in a museum collection.

One more highlight was a classical music concert with arias from well-known operas. Live performance, the concert hall and the acoustics created a format that is difficult to reproduce in school or at home and complemented the overall experience of the trip.

In the free windows of the programme there were sessions of karting, walks around the city and shopping. The trip was intensive: the students rested, changed their environment and learned many new things. The school thanks the teachers and accompanying staff for the organisation, and the students for their active participation and consistent energy on each day of the trip.
