Books instead of flowers: 1 September tradition at Adriatic College

On 1 September 2025, at the opening ceremony, Adriatic College students will once again bring books for the school library instead of bouquets of flowers. This tradition has become part of school life and helps to enrich the library with new titles in different languages.
At the beginning of the new academic year, on 1 September 2025, Adriatic College will hold its opening ceremony. At our school it has become a tradition to bring books for the library on this day instead of flowers.
This tradition carries a special meaning:
- it encourages care for the environment,
- it supports an interest in reading,
- and it creates a living memory of every student, as the books remain in the library and find new readers.
A particular value lies in the fact that the library collection grows with literature in different languages. Families bring books in Russian, English, Ukrainian and other languages, reflecting the diversity of our school community.
Thus, 1 September becomes not only a celebration of the beginning of the school year, but also a moment when the library receives new stories and new authors.
