Engineering Festival at Adriatic College

07. jun 2026.

Adriatic College held an Engineering Festival dedicated to construction, programming, logic, visual form and teamwork. Pupils chose one of three areas: creating engineering structures, developing animations and games in Scratch, or working on tasks connected with balance and beauty.

Engineering Festival at Adriatic College

Adriatic College held an Engineering Festival. During the day, pupils worked on tasks involving construction, programming, logic, visual form and teamwork.

Participants could choose one of three areas:

  • “Creating complex engineering structures”
  • “Animations and games in Scratch”
  • “In search of balance and beauty”

Each area required its own approach: in some tasks, pupils had to think through the stability of a structure; in others, the logic of a digital project; and in others, the exact relationship between form, balance and idea.

Creating complex engineering structures

In this area, participants designed and built engineering structures. The work required accuracy, calculation, the ability to discuss ideas within a team and to test solutions in practice.

The winners in the senior group were:

  • Vera Eremenko, 4B
  • Andrey Antonov, 5A
  • Petar Bugarin, 5A

In the junior group, first place went to:

  • Lev Ershov, 2A
  • Maximilian Hamilton, IPC2

Second place went to:

  • Leonid Efimov, 3B
  • Ilya Zolotorev, 3B
  • Vesna Bičan, 3B
  • Kristian Hrgian, 3B

Third place went to:

  • Makar Stekhov, IPC3
  • Aleksandr Trusevich, IPC3
  • Alp Oner, IPC3
  • Vasily Tsaturyan, IPC3

Two teams were also recognised for design:

  • Mikhail Shevtsov, Arseniy Khramozin, Dominik Evdokimov, IPC3
  • Maria Zlobina, IPC4, Angeliy Bondarenko, Presecondary B, and Lev Salnikov, IPC4

Animations and games in Scratch

In the Scratch area, pupils created animations and game projects. Participants worked with sequences of actions, visual elements and the logic of interaction within the project.

The winners were:

  • Miroslava Melentieva, LS1 — senior group
  • Mark Nizhutin, 5B, and Maxim Leskiv, 5A — middle group
  • Sasha Yasnaya, 2B, and Sofia Malyasova, 2B — junior group

In search of balance and beauty

In this area, participants worked on tasks where balance, accuracy and visual solution were important. No winners were chosen here: each participant presented their own version of the balance between an engineering task, form and creative approach.

The festival was a day of practical work: pupils tried different solutions, discussed ideas, assembled structures, created digital projects and brought their work to completion.

Adriatic College thanks the participants, organisers and senior pupil volunteers who helped run the festival and supported the teams at different stages of their work.
