Requirements for Applicants
Age Requirements
To enrol in the IB DP programme at Adriatic College, candidates must be at least 16 years old and not older than 19 at the start of the academic year.
We are prepared to consider exceptions to the age requirements for students who demonstrate sufficient academic knowledge and maturity corresponding to the level of the IB DP programme. If you have any questions about enrollment, please contact the admissions committee to discuss your circumstances.
Academic Requirements
Candidates for admission to the IB DP programme must have completed secondary education or its equivalent, as evidenced by relevant documents. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge aligned with high school standards, including critical thinking skills, research abilities, and a readiness for independent learning.
Language Requirements
For enrolment in the IB DP programme, we expect candidates to be able to participate actively in academic discussions, understand texts in English, and articulate their thoughts both orally and in writing with sufficient clarity. Students must possess adequate English language skills to effectively understand educational materials and instructors' explanations and argue their thoughts and ideas.
The ability to study material independently and work on projects where English is the primary language of communication is essential. Candidates must actively expand their vocabulary and deepen their understanding of language.
The English language proficiency evaluation will be part of the entrance exams' final assessment.

Entrance Exams
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) entrance exams occur in person at Adriatic College in Budva. We understand that personal attendance may be difficult for some candidates, so we offer the option to take the test online. To participate online, you must justify why you cannot attend the exam in person.

Mathematics Test
The mathematics exam assesses the knowledge and skills expected from a high school graduate. Candidates can familiarise themselves with sample tests while preparing for the entrance exams.

English Language Reading and Text Analysis Skills Test
The test evaluates text analysis skills. The candidates will receive texts of diverse genres and themes for their assessment. During the exam, students must provide a written analysis of the text, demonstrating their ability to identify key ideas, articulate their thoughts, and critically evaluate information. Recognising implicit meanings and arguments presented by the authors is essential to the test.

English Language Interview
The interview aims to determine the level of English proficiency and the ability to communicate on general topics. The interview lasts 10–15 minutes and includes questions about personal interests, academic achievements, motivation, and plans. Students must communicate their ideas clearly and effectively, utilising a diverse vocabulary and showcasing strong language proficiency.
Required Documents for Admission
To officially enrol in the IB DP programme, you must provide a basic set of documents:
- A copy of the child's birth certificate or passport
- A copy of the parent/legal guardian's passport
- The child's file with previous academic results
- Copies of medical documents
These are standard requirements, but depending on the individual circumstances of the applicant, the list may be supplemented or modified. For clarification of the required documents, we recommend contacting the programme coordinator.
