Economics Teacher for Senior School (IB Diploma programme)

Economics Teacher for Senior School (IB Diploma programme), part-time position (approx. 12 teaching hours per week), with the possibility of transitioning to full-time employment from January 2027 or September 2027, rate per hour 20-25 euro (negotiable), official employment contract in accordance with national regulations

Responsibilities:

Teaching Economics in accordance with IB Diploma programme requirements (Standard level and Higher level), including related duties such as planning units and lessons, marking students’ works, documenting assessment results and attendance, etc.
Supervising students’ research assignments as required by the IB DP and in accordance with the IB DP guidelines
Preparing required subjects-related documentation (such as marked students’ submissions for the internal or external assessment, completing the necessary assessment forms, etc.)
Participating in collaborative planning and reflection meetings (appr. once per month)

Requirements:

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Economics
Experience teaching Economics at secondary school level (preferably within international programmes such as IB and/or IGCSE)
Additional professional or research experience in Economics would be an advantage
Understanding of IB Diploma programme requirements would be an advantage
Native-level English proficiency or English language proficiency at C1 level or above
Openness to professional development, readiness to complete an IB professional development workshop to become a certified IB DP teacher (duration of a month, online)
An IB certification would be an advantage

Terms of Employment:

Teaching workload of 12 lessons (40 min each) per week (part-time), with the option to increase to full-time from January 2027 or September 2027, subject to mutual agreement
Class size of up to 16 students
Student age range (IB DP Economics): 16-19 years old
Official employment contract in accordance with national regulations and school policy
Advisory assistance with documentation for a residence permit
Hourly rate of approx. 20-25 euro, depending on qualification and experience, with compensation details to be discussed during the interview
Support for professional development and participation in training programmes
Transportation to and from campus provided by the school
