Year 9 mountain weekend
October 11, 2025
Year 9 spent the weekend in the mountains: sports court, hiking, pool, board games and evening films. The trip ended with a walk and a short reflection — what stood out and where they helped each other.
Year 9 mountain weekend

We packed our rucksacks and headed for the mountains. A base by the forest, a rubber-coated court, a hoop, cabins and a long view to the ridge. The weather kept changing; the plan held.
By day we rotated stations: relays, mini-games, warm-ups. On the trails — climbs, stops at viewpoints, conversations on the way. The pool was a pause between activities.
In the evening — films and board games. It turned into the calm conversation there is often no time for at school.
At the finish we held a short reflection: what went well, where they supported a classmate, and what they were grateful to the group for. The answers most often were “supported”, “listened”, “walked together”.
Thanks to the students for the tone and respectful behaviour. Special thanks to the teachers who were with the group all weekend.
